I would highly recommend The Nido Room. I can't think of a single negative thing as our family's experience has been so positive. My daughter has learned and grown so much under Britta's knowledgeable, experienced teaching and care. With that said, she is also a natural with children. The last thing I will highlight is the incredible lengths she goes to in preparing amazing food for the children. When you send your child to school here, you know they are getting the best possible food.

Britta is without a doubt the most thoughtful, kind-hearted, caring and generous person I know. I have always admired her ability to consistently put others first no matter what she’s juggling in her personal life. When she told me about her plans to open The Nido Room I knew it was the perfect fit for her and it would be a valuable addition to the community.  

I actually had a very difficult time finding child care for my 12-month-old son, Vincent, when I had to return to work and Britta graciously accommodated him temporarily until I could find something closer to home. What I love most is how she treats all of the children at the Nido Room as family. Before my son’s first day I felt like I already knew the other children before I even met them because she would always bring them up in our daily conversations. She would tell me about cute little moments and the milestones they were reaching and how proud she was of them. I know dealing with toddlers on a daily basis is not always easy and definitely not suited for everyone but Britta truly only ever has positive things to say about her day. In the short 6 months my son was in Britta’s care he learned so much - new songs, counting to 10, the ABC’s, walking, jumping and countless new words. He really thrived at the Nido Room and if it weren’t for the far commute, I would have kept him there without a question. 

It is evident that Britta has poured her whole heart into creating the Nido Room and I only have positive things to say about her interactions with the kids. She has such a calm, gentle approach and speaks to them as equals, always. I would recommend her over and over again.

I met Britta when my daughter was about to start preschool at The Nido Room. My instant impression of Britta was the calm, collected and professional manner in which she conducted herself. She exudes positive, nurturing energy and her passion for children is very apparent. I felt very comfortable leaving my child in Britta’s care and my daughter has always expressed her love for “Miss Britta”. My daughter was in Britta’s care (off and on, due to my Covid related work schedule) for 7 months. In that time, I watched Britta, first hand at drop offs and pick ups, park visits, parent/teacher meetings and organized classroom get togethers, and she has so much patience and love for every child I’ve seen her interact with. I can see the amount of care and passion Britta brings to her students, from Montessori lesson plans and beautiful, thoughtful crafts she would make with them, to the carefully constructed nutritious meal plans. I would have every confidence to leave my daughter in Britta’s care and I know she would be well taken care of.

Britta Flood was our daughters care provider for over a year, until I went on maternity leave or my daughter would still be in her care. We could not have been happier with the care our daughter received. Not only have we recommended her to family/friends for care, but we have our youngest daughter on her wait list for when I go back to work in the fall of 2022. Our daughter has nothing but fond memories of her time at The Nido Room and refers to Mrs. Britta as her chosen family. She made us feel extremely comfortable from the very beginning with leaving our only child (at the time) in her care. I am extremely particular about who my child spends time with and who I trust to care for my child. When Britta opened her business, I knew immediately that I wanted my daughter to be in her care and that I could trust completely. Britta took an active role in our daughter’s education and development and offered a safe space for our daughter to learn, grow and play. She has an incredibly calm and gentle approach to caregiving. We have had the pleasure of watching her parent her own son and are extremely impressed with her overall demeanor and approach to parenting. 

She kept us in the loop daily with what the children were being fed, which often was more nutritious and delicious than what I was eating… She went completely above and beyond any expectation I had for meals. It was a running joke between Britta and the parents of the children in her care at the time that we wished she would do “doggy bags” for the parents. She also reported in a private Facebook group daily about what activities they were doing, photos of the children and any pertinent information that needed to be relayed to the parents. She would also consistently stay in contact with us in relation to any concerns we might have had with our daughter and offered us plenty of support to help us whenever we had questions about certain behaviors. 

The Nido Room was always incredibly clean and the protocols she put in place had our family extremely confident in her ability to keep our daughter safe and healthy in a really uncertain time. Time and time again Britta has gone above and beyond for the children in her care and their parents. Not only does she follow the Montessori way, but her overall demeanor is gentle, kind and supportive. 

During our daughter’s time at The Nido Room Britta potty trained our daughter.  She was kind enough to suggest and order at a discounted rate a book on potty training that outlined an awesome philosophy on how to potty train properly. I truly believe that Britta was the most important part of potty training our daughter. She helped encourage her during the school day and was an incredible support to us, as parents, whenever we had questions/concerns. Our daughter felt supported and it instilled a confidence in our her that we had never seen before. Without a doubt in my mind I would recommend The Nido Room and Britta to my friends and family for childcare. I truly believe she is the best in the business.
